What about HardNose? Isn't it tougher than POR15 and comes in more colors?
Hardnose does claim to be tuffer than POR15 black. But if you read the intructions it says it works best if you por15 black first. On my moped I did not por15 black first. No rocks chips as of yet after 2 years riding on the front of my van.
As of most por15 products they are not cheap. But what make them cheap to me is that I do not need all the mixer cleaner hardner filters spray guns and all that other stuff. So for me it is way cheaper and easier to just brush por15 on. All who see it think it is powder coat. And it is stronger than powder coat. Also have you try to repair powder coat like when your frame breaks a weld or something? With POR15 just fix and brush some more on. Also you get a paint that will last forever. Gas brake fluid and even paint stripper will not touch it. I can paint any of my Ody projects for under $100. So it pay for powder coating. Or por15 myself and have the best job I can get. Look at it this way friends. I can wrape a chain around the front bumper of my Ody. I can be towed a few miles back to camp. Unhook the chain and have no damage to my paint. Thats what I call the best I can get. Like the above poster said, it has to be done right to get that tough.
Here is the hardnose color chart. The hardnose is stronger than por15 black in my testing. If you want white it is called whitcote. They market Whitcote to folks that paint boat hauls and kitchen sink paint. It has that pocilan look and last forever.
Also a Moped I painted with hardnose.
