mfgsupply.com does carry 35mm axle bearings (~24 bucks though) and axles as well.

http://www.mfgsupply.com/gomini/gominiaxles/gominiaxleschrometube/gominiaxleschrometube35.html

pretty expensive compared to the german shop..
https://www.rs-kartteile.de/detail,item_id,24.php
https://www.rs-kartteile.de/detail,item_id,22-hohlachse-35-x-5-x-1040-mm.php

IDK about shipping (the axle will be expensive)
but if you're willing to wait for a while for the parts to arrive,
I could relay the bearings for you (or at least kindly ask the german kartshop for international shipping... paypal payments and what ever's needed for you to get the parts from him instead)

My condolences my friend... May you fare unscathed...

A whole bunch of people up north here in BC are dealing with forest fires. Many people are displaced (+30k), a number of comunities are gone, it's pretty bad..

okay fire.. rush to help instead of caring about the kart for now..
Sure! no question about that...

But what's that to do with the kart?!
or was the "much bigger problem" you're talking about not a kart problem, not even your problem [being unaffected by the fire directly]...

Nevermind, kart's "on hold" for now as I understand ... no worries,
we'll still be here once you get back to it.

For a few days i wont be able to work it , need to help a few dozen friends whose places are in danger , but the night has passed and the wind isnt blowing anymore so for now its under control .

Thats why i said with my luck , since everytime something goes by plan , something else goes horribly wrong.

Danger has passed , for the most part ...
This is probably the biggest fire related disaster for the whole country , i mean when you have fire departments come from every single place availible .. its a problem.

As of the kart , work should resume in a couple,of days , and just this morning i officially graduated to college.

Managed to get myself some time to work on the kart , or more specifically the engine.

End result after giving it new gaskets and seals

Got it running.. and after a short while it turned off .
Tried to start it up again , and heard a nasty grinding noise so i stopped immediately. In the process of diagnoaing it , so far my fear is that it sheared the key or the keyway in the crank or rotor.

Hope the fire is under control and all your friends are safe

As for the kart motor make sure the oil level is correct sometimes when you drain it a few pulls while spark plug is out to get the oil in the areas it needs then re check I know it sounds like a dumb thing but thought I might add a possibility

The engine i have is a 2stroke , so no oil involved , except in the premix .

I opened up the motor in the meantime and it destroyed the key and the keyway on the rotor .

The crank is untouched ..

Little update .. engine runs , tho i have the wrong diaphragm in the carburetor , so it runs but not good . Also needs a new sparkplug , a bit colder too .

I got an offer to buy a Comer K100 engine for 75 gbp + shipping .. complete with pullstart a clutch and a tillotson carb .. yes or no ?

EDIT : not to replace the yamaha , just as a project engine for , maybe a minibike

imho too much trouble for a mini bike,
but the engine is nice and if in good condition well worth the money for sure.
it's still a high maintenance two stroke that wants to be taken care of ..
for a 100cc race kart, I'll grab it, "just for fun" I'll let it pass I guess

your call!

Il see ... and i guess i owe an old explanation for the picture above .

Here is the story : Yamaha arrived at my place , im blown away by its condition , but it could use new gaskets + a carb rebuild . As im tearing it down , im still impressed by the state of it . 1mm piston ring in great condition , which i didnt expect on an engine like this . Cylinder hone marks still visible , and the crank bearings have no play .

But , deep down i had a feeling something is going to go terribly wrong , and it kinda did . The ignition rotot i couldnt take off because it was over-torqued and improperly lapped to the crank . So many hours and sweat and swears later , i decided to leave the thing where it is . Which of course came back to bite me in the arse.

So i assemble the thing , and the moment i tried cranking it , the rotor slid of the crank and the engine almost fired , but i was quick on the kill switch.

After that , i took the rotor , used grinding paste to fix the damage and properly lap the rotor to the crank .

Did run the engine after that , and man is it angry at higher rpms ...

New bolts for the bearing carriers , new drill bits for the dremel tool and those ring things i constantly keep forgetting the name off , which will be used to secure the airbox to the carburetor
