Suzuki quad bike 1980

$125 bucks got me a suzuki quad from the 1980's. The brakes are frozen, carburetor is clogged, tires need aired up, but it's looking pretty good. It has no suspension at all sadly, but at least it can shift. I have no idea how to shift with it because the sticker is torn.. It has headlights, and an ugly basket that i'll remove.

I'm not so sure that it can shift.
Oh, and it has 4775 or so miles on it. I have to check for bee nests on it, there were a bunch of bees floatin' around where I bought it.

Sounds like you need to take it all apart and clean and replace things.

How long was it sitting?

1 year I think. It has 1 year old gas in it, so it doesn't run that well. I would ride my go-kart, but the bearings are totaled and the clutch sparks. If the go-kart is still, the clutch messes up and shuts the engine off.

You know those slow electric scooter shopping carts at walmart/meijer? This thing looks like one, because of the basket.

I'm not so sure that it can shift.

It looks like a manual transmission; sure looks like a clutch lever on the left side there.

Bump the shifter (on the left side) up and down and see where it will roll freely(neutral). My neighbor has an old Honda bike similar to that, but his is semi auto clutch.

Neutral will probably be a half click up. After going all clicks down. Maybe. I had semi auto honda that way.
