First timer here! Pick up a Fire Fox 620 and fitted a Pred 459cc. I'm looking at replacing the original shocks but can't find much information. My real question is, measurements of shocks are those from eye hole to eye hole with Max, Min, or in the middle on the adjustor? Currently mine are both set for max travel and measured 14.5" in the rear and 15" in the front. Or does anyone happen to know the true length shocks it came stock with?

• 12 inches (approximately 305mm).
• Common Upgrade: Many riders switch to heavier duty or stiffer motorcycle-style rear shocks, which are often slightly longer at roughly 13.4 inches (340mm) or 14 inches, though this may alter the ride height or require modifications to your lower mounting tabs.

These are factory sizes. It's going to depend on your plans for use. I would look more into how stiff the springs are and how you want it to perform.

And yes, most shock lengths are measured from mounting point to mounting point. Just make sure to measure when it has a full load on the kart.

I have that very same kart, only with a predator 224. We absolutely love it. Stock suspension just like yours. The suspension is to smooth out the ride. It's not going to be a jumping machine like a modern side by side.

They are pretty much non existent. We just use the cart in the back yard which is not rolled and would something for a smoother ride. I'm pretty new with karts as a whole so I'm totally just assuming they are junk. Putting it under a 2 person load doesn't seem to make a difference as it doesn't engage the shock. The kart was pretty rough when i got it and figured the shocks are in the same boat.

When i got the kart it had a 212 on it with a #30 convertor and was just eating belts. I was pretty fresh to karts and may not have had things align completely. I just chalked it up as too much weight. She's a big kart and with a couple of adults, felt it might be too much for the 212. As any man who is not a wrench head, bigger is always better. I happened to catch a sale on the 459's for around 300$ and #40 convert. I jumped on it and learned a lot during the modification process to get it to fit. I swear it was like the gas tank was meant for the basket there on the back.

Have you done anything else to your Fire Fox 620 other than an engine swap? Curious what others are doing.

Here are a few pictures of mine. When I got it, it was in horrible condition. I changed the seats, 60 tooth sprocket, 20" knobbies on rear, 15×6 turf tires up front, and installed some new pedals to get a little more leg room. One Grandson went from 5'8" to 6'3" in about 2 years. You must have had something setup wrong. Even with a 212cc engine ( fully built) this thing would haul around 2 heavy adults with authority.
