Super Wheels by Carter Red One Seater

Hi all.
Got this as a 12th birthday gift in 1997. I remember it had a plaque on the back from a local town that indicated it was a prize in some festival but can't recall the date on that plaque.



Can't count the dirt road miles I put on this thing with my bowl cut whipping in the wind but sadly it's sat for awhile now.


Thinking of doing a freshening up including a new 8hp motor for my son to enjoy.
Looking for any details possible as well as suggestions on parts. Having my parents look at their place for the manual packet that came with it but it likely walked off over the years.

You really shouldn't need an owners manual to get that going again. What specifically is wrong with it. Many kart parts are generic and universal. Buy what fits regardless of brand. Most of its made in China anyway. If you get stumped ask away. Many many knowledgeable and helpful members on this forum.

And we really like father/mother/kid type projects. Those are the ones the kids will always remember. Helping dad/mom and working together as a equal and not a kid.
As Pancho said most parts are generic. Carter Brothers burned down in 2013. There are no factory parts to be gotten anywhere for any price so save yourself the trouble there. The only top dollar part to buy is the replacement Genuine Comet Belt. They outlast the PVC Chineseum belts almost 10:1. Any questions just ask and we’ll do our best to help you. Since this is a kid friendly forum don’t be afraid to let your kids on to ask questions and do research. We do have some younger members who pop in when their not grounded.

Didn't realize they burned down. Good to know about the belts. That's the kind of info I am glad to get.
Finding the manual is more just for the sake of having it/novelty. Honestly I didn't even know it came with one until watching the vhs of my birthday and I handed some plastic sleeved documents to my mom. I figure that's the first and last time it was ever seen.
I can't recall there being any real rust aside from some surface by the pedals. So it will mainly be a clean up and replace what is needed quick project.
I know I always had to carry a wrench in the floor board since one of the front wheel nuts walked loose so permanently fixing the little stuff like that also.
I moved it around in the shop a year ago and noticed a puddle of oil on the floor. Didn't look to see where from yet but that's got me thinking that just picking up a new Predator 8hp (seem like they do fairly well) may be in order.

BMI Karts has a Carter manuals section. Hopefully this will help you find some parts based off the images. I've reconditioned a bunch of Carter karts using these manuals. Here's a Super Wheels 2 seater I finished up a while ago. I had to find Series 20 torque converter parts, the driven is an inboard design.
