Super shaky kart, slow exceleration

So i just got my go kart working again after last summers troubles and ive had this problem ever since ive gotten it, at certain RPMs or speeds because im not sure which one the whole kart shakes REALLY bad, not like a small engine shake but like a gut wrenching shake. I didnt worry about this to much but im still having a problem where it simply doesnt want to accelerate sometimes, i can pretty much sit in one spot for 15secconds and not really move, or go slowly. This problem is more prominent when im a slight incline. The clutch and the engine where both bought used, so yeah dont know anything about them. Im not a big guy or anything....100lbs so yeah im not the problem. Below is what i have.

5hp briggs and stratton
72tooth sproctet #35
12tooth centrifugal clutch, i think its a northern tool one but i forget.
3/4 engine bore

Any help would be A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

it sounds like you clutch is bad you can get a new one online for $40 then the shaking mite be some of your steering componits are loose so try tighting some of them good luck

Ok, you've given us some info but, we also need to know
1. what size kart?
2. what size tyres?

Minichopperfreak may be onto something with the loose steering components but, I'd go over the whole kart with a bottle of blue loctite just to be safe. It could also be a bad/dodgy tyre, may be worth checking out...
