Super sensitive steering

Hi everyone, I am new. I have a Coleman KT196 go kart that was modified to one seater. So, maybe technically it’s some what of a DIY go cart. Problem I’m having is the steering is incredibly super super sensitive!! It has a rack and pinion style steering. While driving on the street and barely turning the wheel it wants to pull drastically in that direction. The geometry of the front suspension is stock. It is fun because I can swing the back end around but it’s also extremely dangerous. Any help on how to change this would be greatly appreciated!

Wider tires would at least make it more stable.
The only thing I know for sure would work is get rid of the rack and go with an Ackerman setup

Before this one have you ever driven a go kart before. They don't react like a car only smaller. They are sketchy and quick. Sorta like what you are describing. Maybe you just need to drive it some more, and get used to smaller
steering wheel imputs.
There is that as well.
If you consider the scale ratio of a kart to any average midsized sedan... it's pretty close to the same within what ever that scale ratio maths out to be.
I know for most vehicles lock to lock is 3 full rotations of the steering wheel... wonder if that rack and pinion is any different?

Steering wheel size could help if he's got clearance for anything larger. The logic being that a larger diameter steering wheel would need more physical rotation to achieve the same degrees rotation at it axis therefore deadening the perception of being so sensetive
