super cheap 4x4 half chevy/half mower

first run didn't do so hot, it was so low geared that the thing in 5th gear full throttle was only going about 5 mph but could pull anything. got ahold of a hydrostatic transaxle with a really small pulley on it tonight so it will be much more torque and have some top end to it aswell. we couldn't get reverse to work on the gear driven transaxle either so they hydrostatic will fix that aswell. we got some awesome looks though while drivin it today

haha awesome. keep in mind you cant spin a hydro transaxle faster than stock or else the pressure release opens.

can you change the ratios for the geared transaxle? i think that would be easier

no this build just started yesterday, it won't look nearly as cool or be nearly as detailed, everything on it so far is at no cost to me so just havin fun with it.

yea but the hydro wont make it go faster having a smaller pulley. hydro and geared mowers go the same speed. not tryin to point out wrong things on it, cause its awesome, but i dont want you to have to spend all this time on it and have the same result

i figure it should be slightly faster than before but if not im ok with that. im more concerned with having forward and reverse than being fast although it would be nice. most hydrostatic mowers are a little faster than gear driven from what ive seen.
