Hi guys,
I just got my new 1 inch bore driver for my 13 HP engine. I believe that it is a larger diameter than my old 3/4 inch bore driver. I am concerned that my new larger driver combined with my bigger engine will put a lot of strain on the belt because the driver will try to pull the belt away from my 6 inch driven unit thus, forcing my driven to expand much farther than it currently has to. I know this will cause my kart to go faster because the gear ratio will be changed. My concern is that this increased drive ratio will try stretch my belt and put a lot of pressure on the sides of it and create a lot of heat and wear. My current belt is an Manco 5656 and it is not worn at all. Is my theory correct, or am I just over cautious? This brings me to my next question, are their stronger belts available? If so where could I find them?
