Hey guys I’m gathering parts to supplement what we have left after stripping our home built I was given a few years ago.
Saving the good bits and building everything else. Gonna be kind of a vintage-Mario kart - safari kart. Like those Porsche rally cars. Great handling with some ground clearance. 90% street/ parking lots and maybe a fire road or two. Anyway. On to my question.
I have polished aluminum wheels for it and I’m keeping those. 5 x 5.5 or so in the front and 8x8 the back.
Right now I’ve got Bridgestone racing tires on the front 10.80/4.5 I believe and 18.50x950 rear.
I’m looking for some turf saver style tires. Like I said mostly pavement and I want to get them closer in size though still exaggerated thinking....16.50x7.50 and 11x4 Carlisle turfsavers.
Anybody have any luck stretching these tires? Or have a grooved but smooth style tire with rounded shoulder to help get me the look I’m after?
