Hiiii everyone *waves furiously. I was given a go kart and my dad and i stripped it and freshened it up, the problem i,m having is that it,s trying to take off once started, i need to really squeeze the brake lever hard to keep it from moving, we replaced the clutch pack as was told the pressure plate springs were to soft but it made no difference, i read somewhere that 3 weights can be removed from each of the 4 weight blocks and replaced with washers and this will allow less pressure on the plates until it is revved, can any of you experts offer advise please, will post pic of my new toy later :) TY in advance. Jilly, what they are suggesting is lighter weights in the clutch. Which very much makes sense. But before you do that check a few things first. Is the idle speed set as low as possible? Does the throttle pedal have enough slack in the cable? Does the wet clutch have the proper amount and type of oil in it?
Pictures would also be most helpful for us to help you also.

Denny gave you good advice and pics are good to share, they speak 1,000 words and can animate someone's brain especially if they have the same kart or engine.

No need to make another post in Introduce Yourself, that's not a requirement here.
