I'm not a huge fan of having to straddle the uprights that support the steering column....

so I'm working on a 'hoop' design.. are there pros/cons to this?

the 'hoop' in these pics is just tacked together from scrap pieces.. I was trying to visualize dimensions and such.

i attached a .jpg of the AutoCad r14 drawing i did to figure out some dimensions... i plan to rake it back so that the overall height above the frame is 13". (figured that out by actually sitting in the frame on the bench)

obviously it will need further vertical support from the sides angled back (wouldn't want it to collapse and entrap me should it wind up upside down)

It might as well entrap you also because it will break you're legs if you do not have a full roll cage and harness to hold you in the seat.
