I've recently made some progress on the steel body work and fake exhaust on my bugatti kart. Not museum quality, but I'm still please with the progress... besides the boys and I are having a blast building it!
In the next few days I should be able to get the tail section steel in place...

Thanks guys.. yeah I'm pretty familiar with the CycleKarts work and it is in fact the inspiration behind it all. Since this is for my small kids I'm starting on the light side with regards to power, etc. Shhhh... don't tell my wife but I have every intention of building a CycleKart for myself after. As Kieran was noting, the steel (in this case galvanized sheet metal) is extremely easy to work with, or at least to cut. It's also pretty cheap and easily picked up at Home Depot. Nice thing with this project is that aside from the wheels, everything is in fact from Home Depot.

I'll let you guys know how it progresses...I hope to get the tail section done here in the next week or so.

There was one of the CycleKart setups I saw a while back that used a regular bicycle gear assembly to drive one of the rear wheels. It pedalled just like a bicycle, but went down to a jackshaft, out the side of the car, and back to the rear wheel. Pretty trick ......
