i have the part that is right underneath the flywheel...and i know its the stator because the flywheel has magnets inside of it and they rotate around it.....i dont see any diode anywhere unless its really small....and i kno its the stator because it puts off ac just fine and lights my headlights just fine to...but im not gettin any dc out of it and my battery wont charge at all.....brand new battery

With the engine running, use a multimeter set to ac volts and check it both wires at the same time. If it makes 15-35 volts, it's good.

I have seen alot of mowers with the diode crimped into the mowers wiring harness somewhere.
