I have a tech ohh60 and am having troubles starting it. It hasnt been started in 5 years. I just replaced the head gasket and carb. i tried to start it and no luck. I checked the spark plug and no spark was going to it. i tested the voltmeter and it said i had in between 3.577v and 2.416v through the wire. i tried a different spark plug and still no spark... could it be the wire or do i have 2 bad spark plugs or the starter module is bad?

I don't think 3 volts will ark very well. Spark plugs usually Ark at 40,000 to 100,000 volts

Hold on a second- you took a voltage reading off the plug wire? This is not an accurate test.

Starter module? No- coil. If you start searching for a starter module, god only knows what you'll find.
How exactly did you check the spark plug?

i placed the plug in the wire and then touched it to the head to see if i could see a spark. and yeah i tried to do the same thing with a car spark plug.

it was the switch wires and ground on the kill switch causeing the no spark haha. i started it first pull and it ran. but white smoke was coming from the exhaust and now it is a dead engine. im taking it apart to see what went wrong tomorrow. but it looks like a bad piston ring. or the valves are bent.
