starting crazy kart

ok, i have a 18hp mower engine and im planning on makeing a 6wd kart(not including the front) well i have it planned out the gearing, bearings, frame but having a little trouble thinking of the back suspension and all these little things like shims?? and bushings?? sry but i never used this stuff before and wat would keep the axle from sliding side to side on the bearings?

also, with the suspension, how will the axle and wheels come up without pulling on the chain? i mean the axle doesnt go straight up it goes up and back a little

so your going to have 6 wheels in the back, are all of the six going to be powered and is this mower engine vertical or horizontal shaft

man thats gona be one sweet *** project if you make it work unles you have geers i dont think ur gona go fast with all them wheels personaly i wouldent use suspention just huge tires and dont pump them up much

ok, i didnt no if soft tires would be good suspension, but i been redesigning and thinking mayb 4wheels in back for more speed and less weight and shorter length

so your probably go with a differental axle so you could use a leaf spring suspensions simple, like trailer design suspension

i thought differental axles werent good for off road

also, are wheel hubs without bearings and a keyshaft for mounting the wheels to the axle so the wheel spins?

nothing wrong with that just single wheel drive is not very good for off road and yeah thats how the wheel spins

you could use independant suspension with the differental with 1 inch output shafts and using double a arms with cvs or u joints

it all realy kinda depends on how mch the guy has to spend and tooling

ya, but ill do alot of tooling and try not as much spending lol, also i dont want single wheel drive i want the axle spinning and both wheels

well both will be pretty spendy but the cheaper one would be leaf spring suspension

ya i guess, but i never really seen trailer leaf spring suspension, im thinking j big tires because i never have done this before
