i have a 2 seater go kart with a 13hp gx390 motor and tav2 t.c with 15" rear tires ive been tryin to figure out the best sprocket ratio using a #40 chain with 10 tooth clutch sprocket. i want to have decent top speed but also to get up and go, i was thinking of using a 40 tooth sprocket on the axle but i am open for all suggestions. any input would be great thanks.

You will be better off having it lower geared then for top end. The tav2 is a little lite for that hp and the weight of a 2 seater with 2 in it. You might be going through belts.

No the belts are to narrow, even the 40 series is a little light on a heavy buggy in soft ground or sand.
Lower geared, bigger sprocket on the axle. 40t sprocket is to small you need at least a 50

k thanks the only reason i was thinking 40 tooth was was bc the speed calculator was showing higher speeds when i typed in less teeth for the axle sprocket

The only thing you can adjust is the sprockets. 60 might be a little low geared. With 50t you will do around 30mph.
