Sprocket question

Are there different sized bores for sprockets? And where do you guys buy your sprockets and chains? Looking for 60T or 72T for my kart, not a racer just a yard beater.

In most cases you need a hanger to mount a sprocket, kind of like a wheel hub. If you have one on the kart, check the bolt pattern & get a sprocket to match

Ok I see, so where should I buy sprocket and chain cheap? Not sure what's a good price

You can buy all kinds of sprockets from places like BMIkarts.com, surpluscenter.com, and mcmastercarr.com. I'm guessing you are looking for a sprocket that fits right on to your axle, correct? If you tell us what size/type of axle you have, and what size chain you are using we could probably find you the sprocket you are looking for.

Ok so I can't figure out how to get the collar off that my sprocket mounts to, there was one screw in it, I took it out and no luck! I'm trying to upload pictures of it

Take out any other fasteners, clean paint and rust off of the shaft, then try removing the hub. Let us know how that works for you.

Since that hub looks like it has been on there since the dawn of civilization, it'll be a fight. Yes, strip all the paint off the shaft, and and rust, too. Thoroughly. A powered wire wheel would be a good tool for the job. Finish with emery cloth. Soak the he// out of it with WD-40 or other thin penetrant, going in from both ends AND both screw holes.

Get yerself a hot wrench (propane or MAPP torch) and a bucket of cold water. Heat that puppy, HOT. Immediately quench with the cold water. That will break the rust bond. Now, using a hammer and drift, drive that sucker off the shaft...
