70 mph or 70km, with a cent clutch youl be lucky to go 25mph and make it across your front lawn. trust me if you want performance ditch the cent clutch and get a tc, youl be buring tires at 40mph.
if you do go with your cent clutch chose between 27mph and burning rubber

I'm pretty sure the only guys who can roll at 70 are guys like me and toxic and guys with cages AND harnesses.

I can hit over 70...however i would have to be insane. i normally stay below third.

As far as trying to get 70 out of a clone with cent clutch...nope
burning your tires with cent clutch...nope

You can get around 40 with an ungoverned clone and cent clutch, while still having decent takeoff. gear it for 10 and you'll be able to spin the tires in dirt...

well, we run 45-55mph in our race karts with the clone engines at the right tracks, using 16 and 17 tooth clutch drivers (and sometimes 18 tooth) and rear gears around 60... but takeoff is slow... so you can either have one of the other... for a yard kart, you are better off sticking to 30-40mph... that all they were designed for anyway.

Edit: I'm pretty sure the only guys who SHOULD roll at 70 are guys like me and toxic and guys with cages AND harnesses.

Or those guys with low cg shifter karts.... if i wanted to someone has done over 80 on a racing mower... so if i really wanted to... It all depends on how crazy u are... and dante i would take that thing past 3rd.. mabey:devil2:

I dont often, i generally stay lower than 40, since i have no suspension.but i do I have an alright stretch out my front lawn and down the driveway, then up my friends driveway. i could easily hit 50 there, but stopping in time for road crossing is another thing haha.

:wai:My driveway is a perfect 1/4 mile strip. I learned that braking issue when my friend and I dragged our bikes.... Almost hit a haystack... but... I won!!!!:wai:

How do you tell how quick you're going? On a kart it feels a lot quicker than in a car. The only way I can judge my speed is in top gear at about 8,000rpm (3,000rpm left, air filter was clogged, wouldn't rev out) I went absolutely flying past a quad bike (ATV) which was doing 70kph. I was probably doing 110.

Do you have a speedo?

Hand held GPS. Most give a current speed readout. Or a speedo works too, but GPS's are more common.
