Speed Question

Ok i was wondering if anyone could tell if it would be a good idea to put a 17 tooth clutch together with a 27 tooth sprocket any ideas on how it would turn out in the long run

edit: the engine i am putting on is 7200 rpm just wondering if i will get good speed or not

You would get awesome speed, but you would fry your clutch in a second and a half and have to be towed up to speed because you will have very little if any torque.

Depending on the size of your tires and what you are using the kart for, I would suggest 12 on the clutch and 72 on the axle.

Unless your engine has a built in reduction, then no way, even with small tires. What type of speed or torque are you looking for?
