spacer for shaft

Fellas I need your help I need to run my 40 series torque converter driver pully a little away from the engine in order to get it to completely line up with Driven pully.what is a good spacer to use it just needs to be a few mm thick.it is my understanding that I can not use a washer your advice would be greatly appreciated

40 series= 1" shaft? Not sure what you can use... but I used a con rod pin, cut to proper length... but I have a 3/4" shaft... gonna be harder for 1" diameter... Lowes, Home Depot probably have pipe(NOT copper or aluminum) w/ 1" ID. Just make sure the walls are thick enough to handle being cranked down n torqued on.

Someone else will chime in n give a better idea Im sure!

I second the pipe idea. I have done it in the past. Nothing wrong with washers though, even a stack of them as long as you tighten down the bolt that holds the torque converter onto the engine shaft. Some washer inner diameters are weird/not consistent (e.g. a 5/16" washer could have a 3/8" inner diameter).
