maybe the images are of high resolutions, you will need to reduce them.

When you press manage attachments you should get a list of maximum image sizes.
Make sure your file is under the max. you can use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to reduce file size.

If this doesnt work, upload the image to photobucket and use image codes around the URL -
