How about a go kart with radius arms? :)

Just finished up one of the arms. Gotta build the other, figure out a pan hard bar, then figure out where the shocks are going to go.... lots of work ahead yet.

I used hardware store threaded eyelets for this stage of the mock up at $1.49 ea they are far cheaper than heim joints lol. I need to redo the pivot at the back and make it a double-sheer....

Hrrmm.. when i googled it.. all o came up with was fancy and in some cases really complicated double wishbones... didnt see any like this. Oh well... im having a blast making it :)

Some pics of my new suspension... it sorta works... i have some articulation issues... but that may just be a matter of actually using heim joints....

Your articulation issues are caused by the upper mount of your panhard bar. It's too high. At sitting ride height, the panhard bar will be nearly level. Not angled. At your angle, stuff is gonna swing to the right on compression of the suspension. Meaning, YOU will go to the right while that axle goes to the left a few inches on compression.

This setup was used extensively on 1950's and some early 60's boat trailers. Google "HOLSCLAW" or TEENEE trailers & look at the setups. It's far from new.

Alternately, find any mid 90's Buick Century and look under the back end. Same thing.

If you want what you're doing to work, look at ROCK CRAWLER setups. You're gonna need more heim joints. (2)

A number of radius arm setups i looked at on goggle images didnt use heims at the axle end.. im not against it really, just didnt think they were needed

I ordered 6 heims for the suspension..
And two for the panhard. They will be here in a day or two. (I love summit racing)

Some of my order arrived today...(love the ohio warehouse) so.. the panhard bar itself is done. I moved the axle end out as far as i could to lengthen the bar. Still need to move the frame side mount down some...i want to wait until i have the shocks to be sure of actual ride height with my FatAss(tm) in it.

This is why it wouldn't articulate... i built one of the 4 joints with no side-flex... guess i need all 4 heims when they arrive.

Learn something new every day.... the reason my radius arms won't articulate, is that there is no way for the axle to twist... some flexible bushings might get me some flex... but im thinking the best thing is to order 2 more heim joints, and turn it into a parell 4 lik setup. Or possibly a triangulated 4 link....

Im not sure about those springs tho... i may need to.lean them in more to reduce the effective spring rate. I can put most of my.body weight on top of them and they hardly.move.
