I will just jump right into the list
1.How do I make sure the chain is not to tight or loose? Right now it seems to be clanking around to much for my liking.
2. Where can I find some cheap tires, they can be slightly used, I do not care. I just need to replace the tires I have now as they are closed to disinigrating on the kart.

That is all I have for questions right now. I will keep you all posted on the go-kart build as it is coming along.

A fairly loose fit for a chain is normal. Depends on the length of course, but you usually want to be able to deflect it 3/4-1" at the center. A little too loose is better than a little too tight.

Craigslist for used tires, or find a shop that fixes lawn mowers. I get them for about $5 a tire.

I also have another question. I have a Tecumsah 6Hp engine but the bowl leaks. I tried to make a rubber casket because I could not find any but no luck. So does anyone know how to stop the leaking from the bowl on the carb?

i have used automotive rtv sucessfully. trick for me was to apply a tiny bead on the outside edge at the very top of the bowl and then let it dry overnight. held up for over a year ! ( till i took the bowl off again !)

i find cheap tires at my local metal scrap yard. there are lawn tractors all over the place. they only charge me by the weight in scrap !!
