15000 watt 12.8 hp go kart help
Hey everyone I found the motor and controller that I am going to use for my electric go kart and hopefully will pick up some good batteries at a local salvage yard. The motor is 4800 watt pm motor and I'm planning on running it at 36 volts. So it should be 133 amps and my controller will be a 300 amp alltrax controller.

Anyways Im looking for parts for safety now. Im planning on getting some 150 amp fuses for it but Ive been doin some research and most go kart builders have a fuse AND a solenoid or emergency disconnect switch. These seem fairly expensive (another $50 or more) so I am wondering if they are neccessary if I already have a fuse hooked up? If so why, and any recommendations on what to get and how many amps they should be?
Also the motor is rated 4.8 KW continuous and 15 KW for 30seconds. Which number should I use to calculate amps? Im pretty sure i use the continuous but then why give the peak wattage?
