I can't even remember when I bought the HF bender on Craigslist years before but I never did take to it. While visiting my old ladie's uncle's house in Prescott this spring he told me about a problem he has of coons eating goldfish he keeps in a pond in his garden. I casually looked at it and said foolishly "I can totally make a custom cage to set over that to keep the coons out." He builds custom cabinetry and had large sheets of cardboard in his shop to trace templates on to and got to tracing. He took me up on it and wouldn't you know, bender was back in action. I quickly realized I need a roller rather than a bender but hey- work with what you've got. The toughest part IMO is the base and it came out decent IMO. There was a lot of cranking the jack- A LOT. Then there was some reverse bending- undoing the bend(s) I just made.... I sent the base up north and he confirmed it fit. Now I will soon fab up the "dome", and send it back up north.
