once a thread has reached a certain age without being replied to, it closes automagically.

If you want it to be reopened, just let any moderator know, and we'll open it for you
(as long as you are going to contribute that is )

Sure it's inconvenient at times,
but it turned out, ressurecting dead threads is even worse.
And it happened once too often

Now, you have some tool you wanna post?

Thanks for bringing the corpse of that thread to my attention.
You wouldn't believe the amount of excellent content in old dormant threads made by dormant members who are no longer with us.

I think a home made or custom tool, jig, or part type of thread would be a good sticky. Few pictures of the item, and discription of what was used to make it, what its for and how it works.

If i remember correctly, there is a thread for homemade tools already in existence. Wait....here it is

And yes, threads get automatically closed after 6 months. People used to resurrect dead threads just to say "Cool project" or "Nice build". And then members get all exited because they see a new thread.....and all it turns out to be is a 5 year old thread with nothing of value in it. It got really annoying. So the powers that be decided to lock threads after 6 months, and to tell you the truth, I have only unlocked a handful of those at the OP's request. People are a lot happier now

So....if you want something opened again for some meaningful post, please let us know and we will get out the keys as Sid mentioned
