I really want to get a snowmobile engine for my kart but i am stuck on figuring out how to connect it to the axle. People say to use a v-belt pulley or a secondary clutch??? I am very confused if you guys could help me out thanks!

You're going to need the CVT components from the snowmobile- both the drive and driven units. You will need to mount the driven unit to a jackshaft spaced exactly as far away as it was on the snowmobile (unless you want major headaches trying to find the right belt size). On that same jackshaft you will mount a sprocket, which is connected to your rear axle via a chain.

Get a comet 1" bore centrifugal clutch .mount it 2 the motor and it has a jackshaft with it then run a chain to the axle what is your axle size?

So, what if the engines shaft is larger than 1" &/or exceeds the hp limit of the comet unit?

If he's getting a snowmobile engine he may as well use the CVT that was attached to it
