Nice forum. lots of really good info on here. Ive looked around and cant find the awnser im looking for so.....

i bought a kart a week ago and am going to do alot of changes to this thing. i want to put a fan cooled sled engine on it but i do now want to have a primary and secondary clutch to a chain with sprocket to the drive shaft, i just want to go straight from the engine to the drive shaft but im having a issue trying to find a clutch for this. make sence?? im looking at about 60-80hp is the range im thinking.

has anyone done this?

i have thought about doing this, but what ive heard is that the only practical way is to use the torque convertor that was used on the snowmobile and just weld a sprocket onto it, your performance will be much better as well, but as far as i know it isnt going to be easy to find a centr clutch rated for that high of hp, hope this helps

use the belt drive off the snowmobile. mine has a belt clutch and a bigger pully on other side and a 1 1/2 belt and its a 440cc about 30 hp and it reaches speeds of up to 80 mph
