change direction of spin
Ok, so say I have a engine and it spins forward...is there a way to make it spin the output shaft the other way? Want to take a engine and put it on a different thing and would make it so much better if it spin the other way. No Turning it around opens a whole other can of worms

If it was a 2 stroke I'd say maybe but, a 4 stroke, definitely NOT! The first thing you would need to do is re-engineer the camshaft... & then the rest of the engine...
In theory, it's probable with maybe a B&S flatty which has a horizontal piston but, not so much with a Honda or clone because the piston would be forced into the lower side of the bore, causing extreme, premature wear...

Hmm, this one's a head scratcher...
First off, if you want to make use of the engagement mech, you'll need to run a belt...
Quite honestly, I think your best bet is to mount the engine behind the chute; you'r idea of mounting it on the other side of the chute is doable but, very involved, with a lot of fab work & a lot of moving parts (read more pieces to break or mess up) & willl likely throw off the balance of the blower itself...
Although I have a lot of mechanical knowledge & experience, I've never even seen a snowblower so, wait for the other guys to jump in, they may have a few more ideas...

hes always useing snow blowers in sydney
because u know australia is known for our record snow falls
so like fabroman iv never seen this machine
im making alot of assumptions based on what i can see in the sketchy vid
what if u mount the engine across the other side on the chute and run a shaft across to a pulley at the front
this pulley will hold a belt that threads though a tensioner and around the worm drive
(IMPORTANT BIT)
u must have a belt in the system
i imagine that these worms can get blocked
or u may hit a rope or garden hose thatll lock up the worm
if the worm locks up and the motor keeps spinning a chain wont give till the device rips its self apart
a belt will slip or snap resulting in an inconvenience but far less damage
this is the main reason belts are still used on machines today
i figure u will have to sit the engine back a bit so theres a uni on the end of the crank and a uni on the drive pully shaft
i assume thisll fit but without more pics i cant say for sure
thats my 5c worth

Aw man, turn your phone around...
Hang on, is the plow articulated? If so, why does the blower need to be articulated as well? Adjustable yes but, once it's fixed to the plow, it will move with the plow...

"B" section V belts; "A" section would be a bit flimsy for this application, B section are more robust...
