Hey guys, I run a landscape company, and during the summer I used to plow driveways with my tractor but I wanna make the switch to a snowblower. I want a comercial one that is going to hold up. Any brands i should look at?

keep on the lookout for snapper two stroke, ive had a 6.5 hp tecumseh snapper thats been serving my family for 25 years, all its asked from us is two new spark plugs, i can walk out there anytime put the choke on give it one pull and itll start right up, its not the best but that snowblower has been run for 4 hours a week and held up for this long, its an amazing snowblower that dosent get stuck, and its about the only tecumseh thats worked for me, especially for this long

Umm that thing is tiny. I think he means something that will throw the snow quickly and deep stuff. Any brand will do. Needs to be 2 stage. Unfortunately, most have Tecumsehs that have the diarrhea syndrome after lots of hours. I hate working on them.

Every tecumseh has given up on me that ive owned, except for 1 that I sold. They awlays have the diarrhea syndrome.

Thats you. Just because you've had a few bad experiences with an engine doesnt mean they're all crap. And what the he// is diarrhea syndrome?

When diluted oil spews out the pvc at all times. It happened to 4 tecumsehs, 0 briggs.

Just because you've had a few bad experiences with an engine doesnt mean they're all crap.

Alot more that a few. It maybe chance that all my Tecumsehs where lemons, but highly unlikely. My Point - avoid tecumsehs at all costs. Constantly break down, parts are more money, and there a pain to work on. I have sent alot of tecumsehs to the scrap yard. I dont care if they have a better power to weight ratio, if it runs good and dosent have diarrhea, I dont care if it weights acouple pounds more.

if tecumsehs are so bad, than why can russ get and keep them running with little effort? youve had tecumsehs that havent been taken care of and so have i, but what happens to you is diffrent from what happens to someone else

You definitely want a 2 stage, I would just get as big a snow blower as i could, for the least amount of money. I would probably go used too, don't get a rust bucket, or something that has been treated like crap, but something that needs a bit of paint, some engine work. I'm sure something like that could be had pretty cheep with an 8hp+ engine.

Now IF you REALLY want to go crazy getting a snowblower......
