Have you noticed that on 4s-s it's always the digitizer/display that breaks and on 5/5s-s it's always the buttons.. so that no matter what model you have you always have to disassemble that thing completely?!
Or is it just me again?

make some cupcakes, write their names with frosting and call it a day.

buy one to take some measurements if you're unsure how it works..

you could write their names (last names makes sense IIAM) to the side wall to show your welding skills if you want to;
stamp your name to the back plate and you still keep the "slightly useful" part of the approach.

cutting the holder from 1x2 1/2 rect tubing will lessen the effort

aluminium.. that'd be awesome.. can you weld aluminium with your 210?
anodize the letters with a blow torch for a nice effect for example

you know with my new baby 210 MP the mere idea had me just rush out and lay a test down!

I can't weld aluminum yet but heard my dad was reviewing my Elfster wish list today which has the aluminum spool gun on it so perhaps soon, at any rate I'll prob buy it before the end of the year (nothing like approaching your mid thirties and still getting excited for presents from parents)

i made this roll up towel holder for dad and his wife last year, but they got creative, turned the pieces sideways and put flower pots in them mounted to wall, nice for a western theme...

the bbq brands wouldn't be all that hard, nor expensive to make, could cut their initials in a ranch looking brand fairly easily, a couple feet of 2-3" 3/16-1/4" flatbar would do it, could even bend the initials out of 1/4" roundbar..... then a length of 1/4-5/16" roundbar for handles, add in cost of wire and gas.... 30$ or so, not bad for 11 gifts...

Now that Jeep thing I'm gonna copy when I go back to work tomorrow. CNC plasma that thing out and try it out on some wood. I already have the grill drawn up from some time ago. Thanks for the idea!

oxy acetlyene torch, angle grinder, die grinder, you could make them without a torch though, if you bent the letters out of 1/4" roundbar, wouldn't even need to heat it, use vise, channel locks, hammer

I could make them without any of those tools.....it's all about making what you have work....a cheap jigsaw with a metal blade and files.....done....maybe not quite as quick or easy...but close.....

jigsaw could do it... just be painstaking, after trying a few figured out 3/16" steel works, but 1/4" is optimal, 1/8" or smaller just doesn't retain enough heat for branding

Yeah....I haven't tried 1/4" yet.....but....one tip....resist the temptation to get your eyes real close when cutting.....

No....not what you think.....saftey glasses are an absolute given.....but a red hot shaving up your nose is no fun at all......

hahaha! i think my buddy's got you beat, he's a welder that lives at a nudist resort.... the flash burns alone... ouch!
