slide carb question...

Hey guys,,anyone know of away of securing the cable to the top of the carb?? This just seems very dangerous to me,tree branch, kids anything gets ahold of it better hang on..,I've tried a small hose clamp but no go. Any ideas??

Just make sure the cable conduit is securely clamped to the frame in a few places, and as close as you can get to the carb.

Make a guard around the carb so as to protect it.

Hey,just an idea,,, try some heat shrink tubing to hold/seal cable to carb. Maybe put a couple pieces over it. Use HAIR DRIER or equal to shrink, NOT A LIGHTER.... and do like everyone else said,secure the cable along from,on top side of tube when possible. When you got it all tied up good,MAKE SURE IT STILL WORKS PROPERLY. ..... Make sure the throttle returns to idle freely ,effortlessly. .... BEFORE you get on and ride....

Yeah,that heat shrink tubing idea sounds like a great idea, I'll give it a try tomorrow thanks for the input guys!!

Cable is secured by spring pressure. Should not need any other means of securing.

He is just trying to prevent anything from snagging it and pulling the throttle open....
