Man that makes me feel old...who'da thought we'd ever be explaining "flooding" an engine?

Yeah, well- you know. Fuel injection, anti-lock brakes, "active park assist", idiot lights on the last few remaining manual transmission cars that tell you when to shift, 'cuz nobody knows... Uh, oh- I feel a rant coming on. I gotta get outta here.:worried2:

Heh, I'll never have that problem... '62 Ford Ranchero w/ Three-On-The-Tree, manual drum brakes, manual steering, manual windows, manual door locks. Safety equipment? Didn't even come with seat belts, I added them myself. Steel dash with a nice edge to it, if I get in a head-on collision they'll just hose what's left of me out and sell it to another old fogie...

holy crap, that is high miles, what have you done to the car for maintenance?

Fuel pump and relay, really good oil. I know of 760s with over 750,000 with proof. Mine has been fixed up to do 0-60 in 5.35 seconds. Nice car to go riding in the field with.

What do you do with the hole in the case? I seen clones with busted cases here a few times. Be carfull hammering on them.

If that engine is an interference type engine, then if the t-belt lets go, you are likely to cause a lot of destruction.

It's called maintenance

It is not an Inerference engine, I had one in a 960 blow a head gasket. Not an easy fix, I sold it, never to buy an I-crap engine again.

Another method I have seen is putting a small grub screw in the hole- the aluminium is fairly soft so it will cut it's own thread.
I put a 6mm bolt and nylock on mine.

yea you can do that but the only thing is then you wont be able to put the governor back in if you wanted to

"Slapsticks" are a pathetic joke. They are designed for Pinot-sipping soccer moms, and balding middle-aged crisis-laden three-piece executroids, who couldn't drive a stick if their very lives depended on it, to fool themselves and hopefully those around them into believing that they are actually Fittipaldi in between stoplights in Rodeo Drive traffic. :toetap05:
