Should we have a speed thread?

for example
212 predator, intake, exhaust, 36 jet, no gov,
7.2:1 ratio
cent clutch
15" tires
34 mph measured by gps speedo app on smartphone

Some other things will factor in to the speed though, like kart weight and rider weight, going up hill or down hill, how the speed is measured, but this would give us a rough estimate on what mods do what. Anybody interested?

Since this is my spare time project it'll take a while to publish the final product..

For now it's a local database (ON YOUR DEVICE!) with all of your karts (or the same kart with different mods)
in the end there also will be a web database (on my server)
where you can compare your karts to other karts

The speedometer you see is a teaser for DIYGK users, that may or may not receive a free Pro version
(otherwise it'll not have the DIYGK Sticker of course )

I was just thinking of a thread here that one could use to compare their kart to other karts, but hey, an app is cool too.

that's the thing.. comparision isn't easy with hopefully lots of data if you cannot SORT said data.

if you use a 212 predator you're most likely aware that a gx390 will have more HP already,
if you have a such predator on a 500 pound offroad kart you're almost immediately aware that the same setup on a 80 pound race chassis would have a much better acceleration.

So in the end you want to know the comparision of a similar kart with a similar engine,
and maybe even want to use it as a hint what mod you can install, or what gear ratio you should use to maybe improve your performance.

Well, at least that's what I think.
