shorter shaft sprocket/clutch won't line up

So got new old school kart with single axle band brake 2-seater. Has been great but stuff happens a new engine needed to be replaced so we purchased predator 212, new clutch and remounted seems shaft is shorter and the line up of clutch sprocket with wheel sprocket aren't lining up (New engine shorter shaft). Mounting plate adjust forward reverse but not left right kinda stuck right now looking for suggestions or good advice the beer only worked so far.

Welcome to the forum. I deleted your double post, just to keep things tidy. Have you maybe got a pic of the engine and clch? It might help us help you. You might be able to use a longer bolt, but we are going to have to see.and again, welcome.

I appreciate you for taking care of me and deleting the other post I tried but couldn't fine the right option, I attached the pics to the original post.
I am thiinking about making a second plate rather then drilling out original engine plate..

It might be easier drilling the original than fabbing another mount. Have you got space on you existing mount?

Yes about 1/4" to 1/2" I don't know if that will buy me enough space but right now on the engine I have 1/2" rubber spacer/engine mounts I was thinking of taking them off allowing me to push the engine forward more then drilling the holes vertical. Its kind of a cheat but it might get me a little closer with a longer chain? I am posting more pics

One suggestion is to in fact use a longer bolt & a spacer to lengthen the shaft... depending on how far it has to go.

See attached pics to see the space on frame. I will use spacer inbetween engine and clutch this should help.

If it were me, I would either cut off the motor mounting plate and re weld it to a proper spot, or, Cut off the L lip that is blocking the movement of the motor( check this if there is space to allow this alignment movement first) and reposition/drill new mounting holes.

But unless your clutch is equipped with retaining set screws, you might need a second spacer on the longer retaining bolt.

What brand/model clutch do you have there?

Hey did you use those same rubber engine mounts with your old engine? (did your chain used to fly off much?)
Unless they're extremely stiff, they might allow the engine to flex-around to to point of causing chain-alignment/throwing-chain type problems...

ok this may sound stupid but here goes.

if you put a jackshaft housing on and then run two sprockets on the same side of the shaft it should work. have 1 inline with clutch and 1 with sprocket. if it works you will have optional gear ratio changes also.

please correct me if i am wrong

but this keeps the kart from getting cut up or drilled up.

Solved problem of preexisting engine mount holes

First of all I do want to thank ya'all for giving me your feedback on my problem of Shorter shaft / Clutch problem.
So as I was sitting in my Florida garage trying to figure this out I looked up and saw my hurricane boards (5x8' sheets plywood) hanging from my make shift ceiling mounts and realized that I could do the same for my go kart engine mount using what is called U Strut Metal framing channel from Home Depot. By using this strut it allowed me to cut two pieces and mount them to the original engine plate but with the channel it has locking nuts that allow you to adjust the horizontal position allowing me to adjust left to right with my engine giving me the line up of clutch to sprocket (pics forthcoming). I did this by cutting only the Strut and it appears to hold very well. I will have to get a new chain which I needed.
