Hello,
I have bought two kinds of shocks for go karts that I am building for my two sons. I can seem to find anything that would work.
Like suggested I looked up small atv and minibike. But the most recent ones I got were 650lbs/inch. I can’t seem to compress one of these with my body weight; let alone two for swing arm suspension.
does anyone have suggestions?
I have some photos in the build section if anyone is interested
Will

I have a pair of these, not sure which exactly (will check later), on the rear of my Rupp minibike. I can tell you they match the type in the listing that has the shorter spring that covers 2/3rds the length of the shock body. Not installed by me but they are compressible with decent give. They are definitely not anything particularly fancy.

Probably Chinese-made (what isn’t?) and available from a number of places, probably cheaper than Asuza. I'm worried about your aluminum framed karts being too light to compress the shocks, heheh. I'd probably give Azusa a call for tech info.

Yes the aluminum frame worries me too. It is nice to work on being so light and flip around. Also though it would be good to transport.
lately my biggest concern is the resistance from the shocks. I’m considered they are too stiff they won’t do anything with a 40 pound 6 year old; and 2 they are so resistant that the aluminum would bent before the shock compresses. Ha ha ha. This has me redesigning the frame to prevent. I think I have a decent design for the swing arm frame.
I have been waiting till their feels like something to update the photos for in my build. But I guess I can take some of the rear frame section. I’ll try to get that done tonight.

An old extension cord with the receptacle and cut off and the wires striped bare of insulation, for about 1/2” will give them a good shock. Repeat as necessary. Use at your discretion though. It hurts and may kill.

NOTE: Do not do this! It was only meant to be funny and entertain.
Honestly I never thought about this synonym until reading your reply.
fear not I got the joke, I will not electrically shock my kids. Although I do tend to given them a shock with my child-like love of fun, adult-skill set, and my constant mentality of being stuck in my 20s.
