Well, I think the Kart bug has bitten me. I recently picked up, what I think is a Scooterx or Kazuma kart, that was in need of some repair. It was a typical Craigslist find, that I picked up for a couple hundred bucks. I had to replace some brake pads, replace the throttle cable and rethink the throttle return setup. The engine had some carb issues that were easily fixed. One of the spindles had some damage, etc. Pretty basic stuff, but we ended up with a running driving Kart and my kids are losing their minds!

If anyone has some insight on these karts, or any kind of useful info about parts for them, mods and the like, I would greatly appreciate the info! I would like to mod it a little more. It already as an exhaust and intake kit, so that's a start!
I know it needs some front tires. I also know the steering and chassis geometry is HORRIBLE. It understeers like crazy. I realize what it would take to actually fix it, but I am not sure I want to get that involved with this one. Tires will help, and I am open to any other suggestions to get it around these corners!
I am also thinking about pulling the goofy pretend coilovers off the rear, and replacing them with strut bars. My initial thought is that this Kart doesn't need suspension, and those $5 bouncy springs aren't doing much to help anything. Deleting them will make the chassis more rigid and I can also lower the COG a bit at the same time. This kart will be used on windy paved roads near our house.
Thanks for checking out my stuff!
