Hey guys. I'm getting an old go kart from my brother in law and i was wanting to turn it into a shifter kart. here is my issue. i know for a shifter kart, i would need to get a transmission. i want an h style pattern but idk how to achive that and the only other way i know would be the bike transmissions. thats an up down patteren. so what im trying to ask is where i can get a transmission for it (when i get it i will edit in the engine specs) that can give me the capabilities of an h shift pattern, or at least a manual transmission with a clutch for up down pattern. than you all!!!!

For a H pattern shifting transmission I would either use a Muncie M22 or a Chrysler New Process Hemi crashbox.

If you hadn't noticed denny was being a smart alec.
Basically there is no small transmission for a vehicle of this size.
Want/need a shifting capable..... Get a motorcycle engine with trans.

Use a mountain bikes gearset. Just drill the bore bigger. It will be better than 1 and a half torque converters if my poor judgement serves me correctly
