Hi everyone I'm building a cart with a gsxr1000 motor in it. The one thing that I'm caught up on is coming up with a linkage design that will work. Meaning needing to go from the factory "trans" maybe cable? (Not sure how to setup brackets) maybe solid linkage? (Would need a 90° angle to the right then a 90° to the left and up the center of the cart?) Not opposed to paddles either it's just about what will work... any ideas welcome!

a dual cable design will work..
find yourself a shifting lever for a FnR gearbox (any really)

it usually comes with a cam like that:

And such cam (matching splines that is!)
is essentially all you need to fab a cable shifter.

Save yourself the hassle and use a Morse cable and be done with it. Go look at my zx12r go kart for reference.

please edit your post if you just want to add another picture
instead of posting three times in a row with nothing but a single image

Too bad the one thing that cannot be seen in any of these images is how the shifting linkage is done :(

I will take a better shot. The last photo shows most of it. The chrome shifter is next to the steering wheel. The rod runs down and is on a pivot. When you push forward on the shifter it moves a solid rod that goes to an arm on the transmission shifter. Simple and strong. All rods no cables. The clutch lever is on the shifter arm.
