Shaft Size

Hey all!

I have a possible buy on a 10hp Tecumseh w/approx 4 hrs on it for $200.

My current engine is a Tecumseh 6.5 w/3/4" X 2 3/8 shaft (common). I looked up the 10hp and they are 1 x 2 7/8. The guy has to go measure his and get back to me. If his numbers are the same, how do I make this work for what I have? My TC is set up for 3/4". Thanx in advance...

What is your current TC setup? You will probably have to buy a new TC(more than the motor is costing you).

Well not only that, I't came off a generator and more then likely it has a taperd shaft and no fuel tank. Think I'm gonna pass. Thanx for the help as always...

you could just get a new driver unit...

Nah, not this go around yet. I just spent a small fortune replacing the whole set-up.

make a little jack shaft
have a sproket on the engine going to another sproket on a piece of 3/4'' keyed shaft and on the other side of that shaft throw the TC on it
