I just acquired a Honda V45 for $250. Stripped and sold the frame. This is a shaft driven bike. I’ve only made chain driven go karts.

Is there any go-it’s for adapting to a go kart for shaft drive? Can I hook it up to a differential/axle? Can I convert it to chain?

Examples would be appreciated. I have attached a picture of the bike for reference.

How does the bike turn the rear wheel? Doesn't it sort of have a differential or ring and pinion.

There’s a hub on the wheel with a gear. That gear connects to a “differential” of sorts which converts the power 90 degrees so it can go into the engine. So there’s a drive shaft and splined shafts.

my idea is to take the wheel hub and make a sprocket adapter then it’s easy from there. But I wanted to see if it’s been done before and how those people went about it. Maybe there’s parts I can bolt up that make my job as a fabricator easier
