I bolted the kohler to the drag kart and went to a back street to do a run. As I finish my burnout the chassis split down the middle do to cheap but light material (conduit).

SOOOOOOOOOO time for a new kart.

got a couple options now that im more settle and have my tools together.

I'll let you guys choose and yes the power plant is gonna be my kohler

OPTIONS:

*Side winder/buggy

*awd street kart

*drag kart

*sand rail

I think it depends on if your plans are to race it on a track somewhere-(maybe Drag, Sprint or oval kart racing?) Or just cruse back-streets/parking lots, or maybe some serious off roading?

I would go with the sidewinder. With a tire change/shock adjustment you can go from offroad to street/drag easily.

actually nope its that the engines vibration cause some already weak welds to fail so im just gonna start over from scratch.

If you want to use a sidewinder on road you need to change the ackerman angle. The plans have it as anti-ackerman which is great off-road but doesn't work at all on road.

If I could change my vote after reading the replies then I'd say drag kart (even though I think drag racing is lame). A sidewinder would not be much fun without gears imo, and it's really not designed for on-road. You don't need 11"+ of suspension travel on tarmac.

Yeah, I was just thinking with all that hp and money invested in your motor, I'd certainly want to have some type of chassis i could enter in some form of organised racing against other similar vehicles. Open-class Mower racing is the only type I can think of that would allow engines like yours.

in a way that worrys me and no way im dropping the turbo i already have i all layd out besides it would look kinda cool to see a lawn mower with a intercooler in front.

Does that thing still cut grass? I want to swap a sled motor in an old mower, set it up so it can still cut grass with a 3600 RPM automatic rev limiter whenever the deck is engaged.
