Hello all,

The distance between my 40 series driver pulley and driven pulley on my Murray Kilowatt doesn't match up to any belt length (OD) shown on the Comet belt chart. My cart does not have a TC back plate. The jack shaft rides in bearings that are fixed in bearing holders that are built into the cart's frame. The engine position is fixed (unless I drill different mounting holes for mounting it.

So, I have two options:

One: Drill different holes on the mounting plate to change the distance between the engine and the jack shaft to fit a common Comet belt length (OD). Or,

Two: Use a cogged variable pulley V-belt from an industrial belt site like the one linked below.

Any body have any experience using general industrial 7/8" industrial V belts not specifically designed for go cart/mini bike torque converters? I'd appreciate some feed back and/or experiences. The industrial belts I've found do not mention the pitch of the V belts.

Thanks in advance,

OTU

I'm not off by much. One belt is a tad too small and the next is a tad too big. The 203791 is a close fit. I'll experiment a bit and will probably just have to reposition the motor. Probably wouldn't hurt to move it forward a bit anyway. I think this cart was built for a 35 or so pound motor and the current motor weighs about twice that.
