Now half.....I don't know about where you live....but where I do. ..there aren't sidewalks everywhere. ...so I guess the ladies are supposed to push the strollers in the grass?????
But DYK...bicycles are technically classified as motor vehicles and are supposed to follow the same rules as cars????
What about cop cars? Other government vehicles? City construction equipment like backhoes or street sweepers???
So there are at least a few exceptions to the above. ....
I was talking bout what the judge/magistrate 'could'
consider as 'law', if he/she were to be under Federal authorization(judge by the books). "If" there is a GS code at the bottom of the sign... it's a recognized mandate for the sign to be in that location by a federal law... stop/no parking/yield/speed limit/etc(stationary road signs).
(not sure what this has to do w/ the price of tea in China... but)Yea we have side walks... but in the 30 yrs ive lived here... not once have I ever seen anyone pushin a stroller down one... but I have seen a mother draggin her kid by the hair kickin and screamin down the side of the road once... no sidewalk, in the dirt.
Yes I know bicycles are
considered to follow the same rules as cars... but lets see how fast you get 'pulled over' for driving one down the middle of a County road(
one of the reasons for the space between the yellow line and the 'actual' edge of the road (no taxed zone... area where non taxed vehicles maneuver)). So if a judge were to
let someone go for driving their go kart down the road because,
the sign said to do so, the judge would be in the wrong(under Federal law), cause federal law trumps ALL city/state laws... but $$$ talks and lawyers gladly take a chunk of the 'law' bending/overlooking.(e.i- how many ppl have you ACTUALLY ever heard of someone paying the 250K for playing mailbox baseball... I didnt... but it 'did' come up as a subject when I went for my Federal clearance for a contract job overseas...lol still got it though....)
What about cop cars? Other government vehicles? City construction equipment like backhoes or street sweepers???... they are all 'governed' under city/state/local officials as state owned vehicles... plus 'those' folk are the ones that have something to do w/ the 'official' sign being put in the location in the first place.
All Im saying is the signs w/ a GS code are
definitely to be followed...If
no GS code... it's to be
respected. However, if it's a law and a
non GS code sign says to 'break the law', you have little to worry about from the cops,
for ignoring the sign, due to the fact that by following the sign, you would be breaking the law, vs. a 'rule' set aside by someone of lesser authority than the federal government.
