i picked this Path Winder up for the kids last week for $175.00. it wasn't running and was a little rough, but i got it looking and running good for the kids now. I thought it was funny when i had the boy stand next to it - I didn't realize it was so small....

Ahh- a nice, clean resto. How's the boy liking it? I imagine your stock just went up a couple points!
Aside from paint, what'd you have to do to it, and what were the costs like?

my two daughters and my son are loving it....

wasn't bad at all.... got a new bushing for the clutch for $2.00 and a carb kit for $9.00 at the local surplus store. Already had the black paint and bought two can's of red. I bought another gas tank from a member at buggymasters.com for $10.00 plus shipping but didn't use it because there is light rust inside but the foam is intact. I plan on using it once I figure a good way to clean it out... but so far, even using the old tank, it's been running great and doesn't seem to be feeding junk into and clogging the fuel filter.... almost forgot.. two new tires in the rear... $11.00 each at the surplus store... the bolt holding the brake band was bent, so i had to redo that to get the brakes to work...

After i put the pictures up, i realized i didn't put the chain gaurd back on. I pulled it off and set it aside first thing when i got it home and forgot all about it. i'm going to sand her down and get some red or black paint on it and put it on sometime this week....

i honestly don't know the value of karts... how did i make out with this money-wise? not intersted in selling, but i am curious...

From where I stand, you did very well. Buying on the used market and raiding surplus stores is a great way to come out ahead financially. You had great luck, too! I don't know what the odds against finding YOUR clutch bushing for $2 are, but it's pretty amazing!

I really like your kart. I have always like the simple yard kart look. I am not too much of a racing kart fan.

I am sure you would be able to sell her for at least $250 maybe (if you wanted to).

To clean your new gas tank you can do "reverse electrolysis" on it. Do a search on the site and you will find loads of info. It really does work well.

I wish mine was as nice as yours. But mine was only $50 with a junk motor. I put a spare 5hp B&S on it and put a new bushing in the clutch ($3). And a throttle cable I had. Not bad for $53, still working on getting the seat.

Looks like I am a little late getting back to you. Sorry. Here are the pictures you were looking for. The brake was very inexpensive. I just welded the caliper bracket to a spot on the frame and bout a turnbuckle for a hardware store and welded it to the origonal brake rod so I had adjustment.
