Well Im new to this game but know that given time i can create a Frankenstein of a buggy so i present to you the start of my Piranha (esk) buggy i plan to build over as long as it takes. Some of you will know was determined to put a 50+hp motor in a fairly silly buggy i acquired for pennies. Well i am glad to say i was overall talked down from some sensible ppl on here

Cheers guys. I now know this was more ****in about than worth :ack2: So its getting cleaned up sold and i now have a much better platform to create/design/and learn about everything DIYGK wise :wai:

Here She is (excuse pic quality as there the sellers work lol)

I am glad we could talk you out of that little buggy. :ack2: You would have done yourself some damage there. I think you have a much better bet with this frame. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

That's a good find

U have a good start but a small start is all

Do u have the rear catridge and a arms or do u plan on making your own

If I was u I'd be buying the plans from edge to finish the frame
The rear ends already have a reputation for being torn out under heavy load
Trying to make your own is not the best idea

Having anougther look at it are u sure its a piranha
It looks a bit like one that's been made by looking at pictures

It Will certainly be a good experience
I might be redoing the rear end on mine and ill have some parts going cheap
It will go good with the 1100

Good luck

Unless I'm mistaken, the plans were part of the deal... Scott?

Yeh there certainly wouldn't have been any updates on the buggy after completion lol!
u its that way!

Certainly plan to use edge parts on the rear end, especialy the essentials, and as for piranha or not I was in the same mind as you its has got a couple slight differences, but as far as I'm aware this was built following the plans which come as part of the package :D even if no I am willing to fork ot in time and money to achieve perfection:lolgoku:

If you do plan on re-doing yours then keep me in mind as I'm very interested already ;)

Cheers everyone for your input can't wait to start

As well engineered as the plans are, I think everyone whose ever built a kart or buggy from plans has modified it in some way to add their own twist on it while keeping the basics intact

The usual mods are to lengthen the drivers area
I live close to edge and the bloke who designs these ( tony) is about 5 ft 5 and all the edge buggys are made to his size

Also there are some extra bars to add including a cross in the rear roll bar
And a triangle added to the front hoop

All sounds like good stuff fowler, and people on the edge forums keep mentioning tony, Must be a local celebrity lol!

So certain im starting with the chassis base, made to fit engine etc of course. all the way to the back then stat fab'ing up to join the current roll bar( under tht strange random sheet of metal lol) Including the housing for the sprocket, floating disc, shock mounts and double A arms.

Then on to the guts of the beast :D

That sound about right order wise???

I really must also sujjest you upgrade your rear fowler ;) soon hehe.... Do you have pics of your example??

:censored: never know apparently the single is quite strong when done right, i also haven't decided on the suzi or cbr engine and they might be quite good with the 600 ;)

If you see ton kicking about tell him keep up the good work from a wee guy in a kilt:thumbsup:

Now just waiting :toetap05:Cant get delivered till next week :mad2:

It depends if u get the older or newer ones
The newer ones have a butterfly valve in the exhaust that is cable over computer controlled to close up at low rpm to ( don't quote me here) slow the gasses and make the extractors work better giving better scavenging in the cylinders and there by more power

Also the newer ones have a second set of ingectors that kick in at higher rpm

Also it is important to not that u must use the original air box as they are designed to run perfectly with the flow of that air box
Also the air box has Venturi s in them that change shape at higher rpm

It's all mighty complex
