I was suggesting that you extend the mounting holes of your spindles out, say 6", from the king pin. (I don't know what they are right now). But longer will equal a wider radius.

As I was making breakfast (mac n cheese) I started thinking about this issue. A shorter pitman arm would help too because you must turn the wheel more to achieve the same distance traveled over the length of the arc. If that makes any sense.

exactly what my earlier idea is, problem is that my tie rods will lock up on the steering shaft, and even if that is fixed my pit man arm is still close to flat (pointing horizontal) so that is the end of my travel, but i thought of a way i could fix that! ill see if i can make a sketch-up.

make sure your steering geometry is perfect
we made two reverse trikes at school for an endurance race and one teams failed and my team 's worked but i cant remember why.
i think we had nealy no camber and our scrub radius was way out (as in the wheel was pallelel to the king pin)

that is basically the steering geometry of my kart. my problem is just that the steering is touchy, ie it is at its lock point with the steering wheel turned less then a 1/4 turn, i'm working on lengthening the spindle arms and and and maybe installing some springs to bring it back to center. also what do you guys think of putting both tie rods on one side of the pitman arm? and its all good to have leading (ie pointing forward in front of the spindles like my kart) spindle arms?

sry, i'm working on it right now, whenever i'm motivated to fix the steering i will prob finish it in a few days, but i'm busy with another project right now. if you wan't a certain angle just name it and i will snap a pic.

I wish more than that was budgeted. How about like strike oil in the backyard and say screw the budget cause it no longer applies.

Hahaha, I'll "borrow" the 1 5/8" drill bit I found in the school shop. We'll put it on some type of extension and go drillin'.
