hi ,i just bought a brand new scooter x go kart (x cart) and it has worked for about a day ... but then today after i drove it for about half an hour is stopped... i think it stopped cause of over heating... but then i got on it about 3 hours later and i pulled the starter and it started and i pulled the gas and the wheels spun(i was lifting the back wheels and i was not on the go kart) it was still working and as soon as i sat down and pressed on the gas it died so i got up started it again lifted back wheels pulled gas and they spun.... so i took a seat again and i pressed on the gas and it died.... and this happened like 15 time already... can someone please please please help me figure out what the problem is? thanks! much apreciated:)

im not really into motors but it is just some chinese motor ill try to find out tommorow, but the go kart should hold up about a 250lb rider and my son is only 100-120lbs but i mean the go kart is brand new and the motor hasnt been modified or changed or disassembled in any way and when the wheels are spinning freely (when i pick them of the ground) when i press on the gas while the wheels are in the air they spin fine but then my son get on the go kart presses on the gas and the engine dies.

also the engine shut down i think .... because it over heated... how much time would i need to wait(about) for the engine to cool off to a point when it can work again, or cool down completely? and how much time does it take for a 52 cc engine to over heat? cuz thats the power of my engine 52cc

Okay, heres a check list of things to do to make sure the motor is working properly.

1. is the exhaust pipe shooting out black smoke when you hit the gas?
2. is the motor surging at all when it is at idle or when you give it a little of gas?

3. The motor may have a low oil shut off did you put oil in the motor?

it isnt shooting black smoke or atleast not that im a ware of i did put oil in i put 32:1 oil ratio and what do mean by the motor surging becuase it does make funny noises and like i said it works and the wheels spin and everything when there isnt any 1 on it but as soon as sumbody gtes on it and preses the gas just a bit it shutsdown and this morning it would even start!

Sounds like a fuel mixture problem. When there is no load on the kart(wheels up in the air), the engine doesnt need much fuel to keep running, it's just free revving. Engine's need a richer mix when loaded to keep running. I would check to make sure your choke is not malfunctioning. When you rev it up with the wheels off the ground, does it rev up nice and smoothe when you blip the throttle? Or does it stumble a bit then rev up? A 2 cycle should rev up nice when you hit the throttle. If it stumbles it's most likely a fuel problem. It could also be a drivetrain issue, like a burnt out clutch..If the clutch engages too early, at too low rpm, esp with that small of engine, the extra load can kill the engine. Just a few things to look for...It's rather difficult at best to figure an issue out like this over the net..
