scooter motor into a modified powerwheels

I am building a small cart for my son and using a powerwheels body. My older son has a Razor E100 electric scooter that he does not use. I took everything out and plan on putting it in the new power wheels. The questions I have are, The scooter only started when you gave it a couple of pushes while holding down the lever, how can I make it so the motor starts as soon as I push the lever? Also, how can I make it go in revers along with going forward? Can I use the power wheels forward revers button and gas pedal? Here is the link to my build.

to get better take-off speed you will need to lower the gear ratio, when calculating a new ratio please take the size of your tires into account. you can use the same throttle pedal and reverse switch, if they are ratted for the power that you will be sending through them.

For reverse all you should have to do is reverse the current, IIRC. I'm not electrical knowledge base but I believe that's correct.

just make sure any switches or wires ect are rated to handle the size of the battery you use

Motor problems!!!!!!!!!!!
The problem i am having is that the razor e100 scooter only starts if you push first while pressing the excelorator. Obviously that wont work with a power wheel unless it's flinstones style. Can i just take out the controller and some how directly hook up the wires so that i have a revers switch and can still charge it or will taking out the controller jack everything up? Help, this is all i need to make it work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
